If the ix35 is all about crossover style and space on a budget, then this new entry-level 1.6-litre petrol version should be a winner.

It’s certainly got the value part sewn up. For £16,195 (or £16,365 with engine stop-start, as fitted to our test car), you get a practical family car with an economical and impressively punchy engine. True, the engine is a bit boomy at medium revs, but it’s smooth.The stop-start system is slick, too.

The ride isn’t quite so polished, with a little too much bump around town and too much fidget on the motorway, but otherwise the ix35 is decent to drive. Light controls and a high-up driving position help make low-speed manoeuvres easy, even if over-the-shoulder visibility isn’t so good. auto car

Of course, this is a Hyundai, so you’d expect plenty of kit. You get it: air-con, heated front and rear seats, reversing sensors, Bluetooth, six airbags and stability control are all standard, plus a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. http://www.otocar.net

Still, at £1200 less than the cheapest diesel model, this petrol ix35 deserves to be considered.

new opel astra gtc 2011 spied

pel will soon bring the total body count of the new Astra range to three with the presentation of the sporty Astra GTC, also known as the Vauxhall Astra in Britain, that will join the already available five-door hatchback and the recently revealed, Sports Tourer estate.

Even though we'll have to wait for the Paris Motor Show in October for the official unveiling of the GTC, we can give you a glimpse of the sporty looking three-door Astra as two prototype models were caught on film during testing in Germany.

As you can see in the video after the jump, the first camouflaged Astra GTC features a single tail pipe at each corner of the rear bumper and beefy tire/alloy combos, suggesting it's a turbocharged model, quite possibly, the rumored GSi that's said to be fitted with a more potent version of the 1.6-liter turbo delivering a little over 200HP.

Turbocharged or not, the Astra GTC looks far sportier and more dynamic than the current three-door model. And even though it is based on the five-door model, Opel's design team has given the GTC a lower, almost coupe-like roofline as well as sharper profile thanks to the pronounced crease above the rear wheelarches.

The three door model is also expected to get unique tail lights and possibly even a reworked fascia.

Judging by the spy shots and video, we wouldn't be surprised if Opel targeted the Volkswagen Scirocco with the new GTC - let's not forget that VW's "coupe" is in fact a three-door model also.

The basic engine lineup will be shared with the five-door Astra ranging from a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated four-pot to a 180HP 1.6-liter turbo petrol and a 160HP 2.0-liter turbo diesel, while as we noted before, there's talk in Germany about a 200HP+ GSI version to close the power-gap with the OPC / VXR variant. The latter will most likely continue with the same or an upgraded version of the 240HP 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four found in the current OPC.

The new Astra GTC will make its way to European showrooms in early 2011. Now, how many of you think that GM ought to bring it as a new Buick over here?

Peugeot is set to rediscover sportiness after unveiling the production version of its new Audi TT rival, the RCZ.

The showroom version of the stylish coupe will become the first Peugeot passenger car to abandon the company’s zero-based naming system, but otherwise remains faithful to the 2007 308 RCZ concept.

This includes the RCZ’s unusual “double bubble” roof and aluminium roof arches that can be personalised in either black, chrome or ‘satin’.

The RCZ goes on sale in Australia in mid 2010 and is based on the same platform as the 308 small car.

It has been designed, however, to deliver more dynamic handling with a 20mm-lower ride height, 40mm-lower centre of gravity, and significantly wider front and rear tracks.

Bulging wheelarches will also be filled with large tyres, ranging from 18 to 19 inches, which in turn are fitted with big brakes.

The most powerful version of the 1.36-metre-high RCZ also gains a lower anti-roll bar on the front suspension, which Peugeot claims further improves the coupe’s agility.

This variant features a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 147kW and 255Nm (275Nm with overboost).

Mated to a six-speed manual, the range-topping RCZ sprints from 0-100km/h in a claimed 7.6 seconds.

A hybrid version of the RCZ could also go into production, based on the all-wheel-drive diesel-electric RCZ Hybrid concept car that will debut alongside the production coupe at this September’s Frankfurt motor show – boasting CO2 emissions of just 95 grams per km.

Peugeot says it has also used sound technology to artificially enhance the 147kW RCZ’s exhaust note during acceleration.

Two other launch engines include a detuned version of the same turbo petrol engine – with outputs of 115kW and 240Nm – and a 2.0-litre diesel offering 120kW and 340Nm.

The diesel and lesser-powered petrol engines are available with a choice of either manual or automatic transmissions with six gear ratios.

Peugeot says the RCZ’s active rear spoiler contributes to aerodynamic efficiency, and an aluminium bonnet helps reduce the coupe’s weight.

An optional carbonfibre roof saves more weight as well as lowering the car’s centre of gravity.

Like the TT, the RCZ is essentially a two-seater sports coupe that offers two extra “occasional seats”, which are likely to be suitable only for kids or luggage.

Boot capacity is a respectable 384 litres and includes additional storage spaces under the floor. The rear seats also fold down to expand cargo space.

Peugeot Australia is hoping to sell between 350 and 400 RCZs a year, with pricing likely to be more affordable than the Audi TT.

The RCZ is revealed just two months after the French car maker completed a motor racing comeback with victory in the famous Le Mans 24 Hour race, and Peugeot is heralding the car as “the start of a dynamic new chapter in the history of Peugeot”.

Peugeot has struggled to appeal to enthusiast drivers since the 205 GTi hot-hatch of the ’80s and ’90s.

The RCZ will be built in Austria by specialist builder Magna Steyr.

BMW Z6 leads off growing Z-series

The BMW Z8 might have tanked a bit, but BMW isn't phased... much. The replacement is the BMW Z6, which BMW will pit against the Mercedes' SL class. The car will be produced in a higher volume at a lower price than the $130,000 Z8, and accompanied by two other Z-series vehicles, the entry level BMW Z2 and successor to the BMW Z4. The Z6 will use the BMW 5- and 6-series as a basis and sport "space-age" construction utilitizing such materials as aluminum and sport engines ranging from the twin-turbocharged 3.0 V6 to a "beefed-up" version of the 5.0L V10 found in the M5.

BMW just released official pictures of its co-developed three-wheeled, natural-gas powered micro-car called CLEVER (Compact Low Emission VEhicle for URban Transport). Although nothing official yet, but this concept that was funded by the European Commission (Fifth Framework Programme) could base the C1 successor, marrying the worlds of cars and motorcycles. The CLEVER concept, a €3.3 million (US$3.9 million) effort, is an enclosed two-seater that combines the safety of a microcar, and the maneuverability of a motorcycle, while being less polluting than other vehicles as it runs on compressed natural gas.

Its strengthened frame will protect the driver in a crash and the vehicle will have a top speed of approximately 50 mph. The 230cc BMW engine—modified by Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP) to use natural gas—produces 12.5 kW (17 hp) of power and maximum torque of 15.5 Nm at 6,300 rpm.

Fuel consumption is estimated to be 2.4 liters/100 km gasoline equivalent (98 mpg US), with 59.5 g/km of CO₂ emissions. The compressed natural gas is stored in two removable gas bottles providing a range of 150 km (93 miles).

A problem with three-wheel vehicles with a symmetrical wheel layout is the tipping moment when cornering, which cannot be controlled at high speeds if the vehicle has a short wheelbase. To solve this problem the vehicle’s center of gravity can be moved towards the center of the corner—just as a motorcycle does when it corners.

The do this, the vehicle is a cabin tilter, with the system designed by the University of Bath. The cabin with the front wheel is connected to the power unit and the two rear wheels by a pivot bolt. The rotary movement of the cabin is produced by two hydraulic cylinders (actuators) that are installed between the cabin and the power unit. The actuators create the rotary angle of the cabin of +/-45° relative to the vertical power unit.

Mercedes just unleashed the long-awaited SLR McLaren Roadster which will go on sale from September 2007. Like the 1999 Vision SLR concept on which it's based, the production version of the SLR McLaren Roadster retains the scissor-type doors of its coupe counterpart. Unlike the SL and SLK roadsters, the SLR features a retractable soft-top which is available in three different colors. The roof opens and closes semi-automatically in less than ten seconds, with the driver having to a little ��dirty�� work by unlocking the roof from the windscreen frame and briefly raising it, after which it folds away electrically. We have to say that, while we love the SLR McLaren Roadster��s appearance with the top down, we��re not so enthusiastic about the cars looks when its roof on.
Disproving rumors that Mercedes would prefer the upgraded 650Hp V8 of the SLR McLaren 722 Special Edition, the Roadster retains the ��stock�� 626Hp turbocharged V8 which is coupled to an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission. According to Mercedes, the Roadster sprints from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 3,8 sec while it reaches a maximum speed of 332km/h (206mph) which identical to the Coupe��s performance figures -3,8 sec & 334 km/h (207mph) respectively.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster: An open-air adventure for all the senses

Mercedes-Benz will in future also market its SLR McLaren super sports car in the form of a roadster with a top. In common with Formula 1 vehicles of today, it, too, will be made of carbon fibre, a material that will endow the vehicle with a very high degree of safety as well as extreme torsional stiffness at the same high level as the coup�� version. This gives rise, in combination with the racing-type chassis, to outstanding ride characteristics.

The maximum speed of the new high-performance sports car, which is powered by an AMG V8 compressor engine delivering 460 kW/626 hp, is 332 km/h, therefore at the same high level as the coup��. Although, thanks to its fully retractable top, the Roadster offers undiluted open-air driving pleasure in the highest performance class, its occupants in no way lose out in terms of comfort or the vehicle's suitability for everyday use. Consequently, the new Roadster opens up a new dimension in refinement for open-top super sports cars.

Like the coup�� version, the new Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster once again unites the legend of the successful SLR racing models from the 1950s with the innovative technology of modern Formula 1 vehicles from the Vodafone-McLaren-Mercedes team. Typical stylistic elements, such as the arrow-shaped tip of the Formula 1 Silver Arrow, establish a visual link with the racing cars. The SLR leg-end of the 50s lives on stylistically in the distinctive lateral louvers, side pipes behind the front wheels and the wide-opening gullwing doors.

The new Roadster benefits technically from the many years of experience of Mercedes-Benz and its Formula 1 partner McLaren. Apart from two aluminium engine frames, its body is made entirely of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) materials, making the vehicle an exception among high-performance sports cars. Especially for the Roadster, complex carbon-fibre technology has been intelligently further developed for the monocoque chassis. The result is low weight, exemplary energy absorption and, therefore, extremely high occupant safety as well as a degree of torsional stiffness hitherto unattained in open-top vehicles. This leads to outstanding ride characteristics of the kind otherwise found only in closed-top super sports cars.

The puristic top is suitable for high speeds

The exceptional qualities of the Roadster are attributable also to the fully retractable top, which blends harmoniously into the flowing lines of the SLR McLaren. Its newly developed roof material, which is available in three different colours, not only guarantees complete suitability for everyday use in all weathers, but also endows the high-performance sports car with characteristics that are exception-ally unusual in a roadster. For example, at 332 km/h, the maximum speed is at the high level of the coup�� version. Conversation is still possible at well over 200 km/h on open-air journeys thanks to the favourable aeroacoustics.

The roof opens and closes semi-automatically in less than ten seconds, thereby combining the desire for convenience with the puristic character of the roadster. To open, the roof merely needs to be unlocked from the windscreen frame and be briefly raised, after which it folds away electrically. Since an aluminium cover is integrated into its front section, the roof elegantly closes off the top when re-tracted.

Sophisticated aerodynamics and racing-type chassis

In the wind tunnel, the Roadster has been optimised for high speeds with regard to handling, aeroacoustics and aerodynamics. It likewise employs the aerodynamic concept already known from the coup�� version, featuring an airbrake integrated into the access lid and a diffusor in the rear bumper to provide increased downforce on the rear axle.

The open two-seater is equipped with a racing-type chassis featuring high-performance carbon-ceramic brake discs, thereby setting extremely high stan-dards. Its front-mid-engine provides for optimum weight distribution. With 460 kW/626 hp and a maximum torque of 780 Nm, the AMG V8 compressor engine, which is coupled to an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission, accelerates the Roadster from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

Unique safety and exclusive fittings

A high degree of safety is ensured by unique carbon-fibre crash elements, steel-reinforced A-pillars and two fixed roll-over bars. The comprehensive specification also features adaptive airbags, knee and side airbags as well as seat belt tensioners and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.

The exclusive standard equipment includes semi-aniline-leather-upholstered carbon-fibre bucket seats which can be individually adapted to the driver and front passenger by means of differently sized seat pads; dual-zone automatic air-conditioning; a high-quality BOSE premium sound system; a multifunction sport steering wheel with gear-change paddles, and a navigation system with integral radio and CD player.

2009 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Scooped

Unlike other rumours and renderings we��ve been seen lately, the C63 AMG is really coming to a Mercedes outlet near you either this fall or early 2008. AutoMotorundSport not only managed to scoop the top-end C-Class performing test runs in Germany but they also came up with a rendering giving us a preview of the car. While the previous gen C55 AMG wore a 5.4 V8 pumping out 367Hp, the 2009 C63 AMG will take advantage of the 6,2-litre V8 engine that��s fitted in the CLK63 AMG, E63 AMG, CLS63AMG etc. With the help of a compressor, the V8 will deliver around 500Hp, thus making the C63 AMG the most powerful kid on the German block, out-powering both the Audi RS4 and BMW M3. We don��t know if that��ll be enough to give its two German rivals a lesson, but it��ll sure give the C63 AMG a place in the spotlight when it��s unveiled.

With its sporty appearance and sumptuous level of appointments, the immediately available Sport Edition is a new highlight among the Coup��s and Cabriolets of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class. 18-inch light-alloy wheels in an exclusive design, AMG styling features in the exterior and bi-xenon headlamps as standard give this special model a particularly distinctive appearance. The sporty, exclusive atmosphere of the interior is especially characterised by the grippy AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel, aluminium-look sports pedals and special velour floor mats.

The letter combination CLK has denoted excitement and driving pleasure for many years. The new "Sport Edition" special model now makes the Coup��s and Cabriolets of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class even more desirable. Don��t get any weird ideas now; there��re other ways you can resolve your problems ��theoretically speaking of course�� According to Chosun, the 47-year-old from Seoul named Kim was quite pissed with his cell-phone carrier, SK for not fixing his Samsung-phone. After ��16 phone-calls and two visits to the company��s headquarters he decided to try his luck once again by visiting the SK offices. Kim parked the Mercedes S500 (which by the way was registered under the name of a friend), right in front of SK��s building and put signs on the windshields that said "Delinquent SK". But before he managed to go in the building the security guard caught up with him and asked him to move the car. And that��s exactly what Kim did; he moved the car into the building!

Mercedes-Benz SLR Roadster Scooped

Nearly a decade after Mercedes premiered the coupe & roadster Vision SLR Concepts which was followed by the production version of the SLR McLaren Coupe, the German company has finally decided to put the roadster into production. Mercedes has already confirmed that the SLR McLaren Roadster will be unveiled this summer with the first cars being delivered to their owners in early 2008 and these are the first production-ready pictures of the car, courtesy of Caranddriver.

To keep the weight down Mercedes seems to have decided to fit its super-roadster with a soft-top but it��s still unclear whether it��ll get scissor-type doors. CLK 63 AMG Black Series: Formula One Technology for the Road

Seven Speeds with More Pronounced Sporting Feel

Power is transmitted through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC. Compared to the standard CLK 63 AMG, the rear-axle ratio of the pur sang special series has been made about six percent shorter �� to confer even more agility in acceleration in all speed ranges. For maximum sporting dynamics, the transmission has only the ��M�� and ��S�� driving programs; the comfort-oriented ��C�� is deleted. The driver can switch between the seven gears by using the AMG aluminum shift paddles on the steering wheel, while an indicator in the instrument cluster shows the gear selected at any given time.

In the ��M�� manual program, shift times are about 20 percent shorter than in ��S��. Moreover, in the ��M�� program the driver benefits from the great tractive power of the V8, since there is no automatic downshifting under full load and kickdown; the transmission always remains in the gear selected. When the engine-speed limit is reached, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT does not shift up automatically in the manual drive program �� and in this way supports a dynamic driving style on the race track. A visual upshift icon on the AMG main menu signals the recommended gear change.

Optimized Cooling for Top Stamina

The visual appearance of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series shows its racing inspiration. The redesigned front end is descended 1:1 from the Official F1�� Safety Car, and its generously dimensioned cooling-air intakes hint at the sophisticated cooling measures. For greater stamina under extreme operating conditions, a larger main radiator and an optimized power steering cooler, as well as an additional transmission cooler are built into the left front wheel arch. The engine oil cooler is located in the right wheel arch. The cooling measures are complemented by optimized air ducts with lateral openings in real carbon in front of the front wheels. The front fenders are made of high-strength and yet lightweight carbon-fiber composite material. On their flank, a ��6.3 AMG�� badge hints at the exceptional power of the naturally-aspirated V8. Redesigned side skirts extend to the broad rear fenders, which are in turn connected by a newly developed rear apron. The components taken over from the Official F1�� Safety Car include not only the carbon diffusor fins and the integrated chromed dual tailpipes of the AMG sports exhaust system, but also a cooler for the heavily stressed rear axle. The separate oil cooler has an active extraction-type fan, which is particularly effective in suppressing temperature peaks. On the trunk lid, a new airflow breakaway edge, also made of carbon, is responsible for reducing lift forces on the rear axle.

Adjustable AMG Sports Suspension for Best Track Performance

Like its counterpart in the Formula One World Championship, the CLK 63 AMG Black Series also has a newly developed and quite special AMG sports suspension. The adjustable threaded suspension guarantees optimum road contact and maximum precision. For competitive driving, the driver can create his personal suspension setup: not only the level, but also the compression and rebound stages of the shock absorbers, front-axle track and camber, and rear-axle track are adjustable.

Both axles have newly developed components like spring links, wheel carriers, thrust arms, camber and torque struts, as well as completely reworked elastokinematics. Compared to the standard CLK 63 AMG, the Black Series has over 75 millimeters more track at the front axle and 66 millimeters more at the rear. Added stiffness under high lateral dynamics is provided by strut braces in the engine compartment and trunk. On the rear axle, a multi-plate locking differential ensures optimum traction, with 30 percent locking effect in the overrun and 10 percent under traction. Acceleration skid control (ASR) and the Electronic Stability Program ESP�� are calibrated to meet more intense driving demands.

Lightweight Forged Wheels, Sports Tires for a Perfect Grip

The wheel and tire combination used forms a perfect partner for the AMG threaded sports suspension. Pirelli P Zero Corsa sports tires in size 265/30 R 19 (front) and 285/30 R 19 (rear) permit exceptional grip and amazing cornering speeds �� with outstanding characteristics in the wet. The tires are mounted on handsome multi-spoke forged wheels. AMG aluminum wheels in size 9.00 x 19 and 9.50 x 19 are produced using advanced lightweight forging technology. The weight reduction results in improved response behavior from the parameter power steering, which is also modified for greater precision and agility.

AMG High-Performance Brake System with Larger Front Composite Disks

Looking through the tracery of the AMG forged wheels, you can catch a glimpse of the ventilated and perforated disk brakes. The front axle has larger 360 x 36 mm brake disks which were tested in racing. Their rear-axle counterparts measure 330 x 26 mm. Perfect deceleration, optimal apportionment of brake power and enormous fade resistance are hallmarks of the AMG high-performance brake system �� even when being tested to the maximum on the track.

Interior with the Functional Feel of a Genuine Racing Car

The transfer of technology from motor sport, a Mercedes-AMG tradition fostered over decades, is equally evident in the interior of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series. This dedicated two-seater sports touring car not only dispenses with rear seats, but with its bucket-type seats, rich carbon trim and black headliner, displays the functional atmosphere of a true racing car �� and thus documents 40 years of Mercedes-AMG motor sport history. The new AMG bucket-type seats come without side airbags and are covered in barely inflammable nylon velour with embroidered silver AMG logos. Carbon trim on the center console and on the inner door cladding, also with stamped AMG logos, aluminum door handles and anodized black trim strips, brings a feeling of quality to the interior. On the center console, the specially shaped selector lever and the new, matt-finish start/stop switch add further highlights.

Its diameter reduced by 15 millimeters, the new AMG performance sports steering wheel comes fitted with silver aluminum shift paddles. The steering wheel rim, 365 millimeters in diameter, is flattened on its underside to ensure that the driver of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series always has a perfect seating position and vehicle control.

AMG Instrument Cluster with RACETIMER

The carbon-embedded AMG instrument cluster with its 320 km/h scale furnishes an exclusive ambience and high functionality at the same time. The AMG main menu in the cluster is perfectly tailored to serious racing: it shows the current gear engaged, as well as an upshift recommendation in ��M�� mode, or alternatively engine oil temperature or battery voltage, as well as the RACETIMER. This last function enables the driver to determine his lap times on a closed course. The RACETIMER stores the time of the fastest lap, average and maximum speeds, and the length of the laps.

Despite its raceworthy handling, the CLK 63 AMG Black Series retains those typical qualities that distinguish a true Mercedes-Benz: everyday practicality, longevity, safety and quality. Next-Generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class Makes U.S. Debut
New Sport and Luxury Models Unveiled at New York Auto Show

The fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan is making its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show, open to the public April 6-15, 2007 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. The next-generation 2008 C-Class sedan is slightly larger than its highly successful predecessor, with a greater emphasis on agility, comfort and safety.

With a nod to the recently introduced S-Class sedan, the look of the new mid-size C-Class reveals the latest Mercedes design idiom that's characterized by an edgy interplay of taut lines and wide, rounded surfaces. Revised suspension and steering help make the new C-Class noticeably more agile, along with a new slick-shifting six-speed manual transmission for the C300 Sport model.

V6 Power With a Sport or Luxury Personality
In the U.S. market, the new C-Class will be launched this fall with three V6-powered models �� the C350 Sport, the C300 Luxury and the C300 Sport. In addition, the C300 Sport and Luxury models will be available with an all new 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system mated to a seven-speed transmission. New standard equipment includes a power sunroof, eight-way power front seats with lumbar support, two-zone automatic climate control, 17-inch wheels, Bluetooth connectivity and a central controller with a seven-inch display screen.

Distinctive Sport Models
The AMG-inspired C-Class Sport models can be identified by the iconic three-pointed star in the front grille, a design cue usually reserved for its coupes and convertibles. In addition to the grille-mounted star, the new C-Class Sport models come with AMG cladding �� deeper front and rear aprons as well as under-door rocker panels �� and twin-spoke 17-inch wheels of staggered width. The car also features sport shocks, springs and stabilizer bars that provide a crisper ride and more than a half-inch lower ride height. Instead of the Luxury model's traditional four-spoke wheel and burl walnut trim, Sport models come with three-spoke steering wheels and either aluminum (C300) or black Birdseye maple (C350) interior trim.

Optional 4MATIC Four-Wheel Drive
As modern all-wheel-drive systems become even more refined, they are becoming increasingly popular, especially in the luxury car market. With negligible weight and fuel-efficiency tradeoffs, full-time four-wheel-drive systems provide year-round traction and stability benefits on both wet and dry roads.

The latest version of the Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system is optionally available on the new-generation C300 Sport and the C300 Luxury model. After making its debut on the new-generation S-Class sedan, the new 4MATIC system features a totally redesigned full-time all-wheel-drive system that's integrated into the seven-speed automatic transmission. The new system fits right into the standard body and utilizes the existing front suspension �� gone are the special suspension parts and wider transmission tunnel that were necessary on earlier 4MATIC systems.

The extra gears and shafts that drive the front wheels now weigh only 145 pounds more than the rear-wheel-drive model. Fuel efficiency has been improved, due to a number of innovative measures that minimize the energy needed to turn the extra hardware.

More Space, More Comfort, More Cargo
More space means more comfort. With a body that's 3.7 inches longer and 1.7 inches wider than the previous model, the new C-Class boasts a noticeably roomier cabin in both the front and rear seating areas, and an increased wheelbase of 1.8 inches. The new car has more luggage room, too �� according to the VDA measuring method, the trunk capacity is now 16.8 cubic feet �� four percent more than the outgoing model.

A High-Performance Instrument Cluster
A new instrument cluster features three analog gauges that show engine speed, road speed, fuel level and coolant temperature. In addition, a display in the center of the speedometer is linked to a 12-button multi-function steering wheel that can call up a variety of helpful information including range, oil level, phone and audio system information such as radio station or CD track or iPod playlist (if optional iPod integration kit is equipped). If the car is equipped with the optional navigation system, this display will also show next-turn directions.

A standard-equipment Bluetooth feature allows a phone that's still in a pocket or purse to be operated through the audio system.

Electronic Controller Replaces Scores of Buttons
Similar to the popular system launched on the S-Class sedan, an electronic controller on the console works like a computer mouse to provide easy, quick operation of many functions that used to require scores of separate buttons and switches.

By turning and pressing the aluminum controller, menus and sub-menus on the center-console display are displayed and selected for the audio system as well as the optional navigation system and integrated phone. The controller is also linked to the rocker switches on the multifunction steering wheel.

A Choice of Audio Systems
Standard equipment in the new C-Class is an eight-speaker, 100-watt Audio 20 system that includes a single-slot dash CD/MP3 player, telephone keypad, an MP3 plug in the glove box and a Bluetooth interface. Optionally available is a 450-watt harman/kardon LOGIC7 audio system featuring Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 surround sound. The LOGIC7 system comes with 12 speakers, including two surround-sound speakers and a sub-woofer.
The new C-Class includes a MusicRegister feature as part of the Multimedia package, which enables CD "ripping" (saving) to a four-gigabyte hard drive that can store up to 1,000 tracks from an audio CD. A Gracenote database automatically identifies each track with its title, artist, album name and other information. The audio system can also play tracks stored on a data CD, DVD or memory card.

No Need to Ask for Directions with COMAND Navigation
A five-inch color display nestled under a flip-up cover at the top of the center console is standard equipment on the new C-Class. When the car is equipped with the optional COMAND navigation system, a power-operated seven-inch display screen slides out and up when the flip-up cover is raised.
The navigation system uses a hard drive with map data covering all of North America. In addition to the high-resolution map display at the top of the center console, next-turn navigation instructions can also be shown in the instrument cluster central display.

Renowned Mercedes-Benz Safety
The 2008 C-Class comes with all the safety features that people have come to expect from Mercedes-Benz �� from four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes to six air bags, ABS anti-lock, traction control and ESP stability control. In addition, active front head restraints move forward nearly two inches and upward by about an inch in the event of a severe rear collision, helping to support the head and reduce the likelihood of whiplash injuries.

2008 Mercedes C-Class Tuning Part III; following lorisner ? s and brabus propositions, here comes Carlsson with a spiced-up version of the C350. Thanks to Carlsson��s performance kit the stock 3.5 V6 delivers now 295Hp (up from 272) thus shaving 4 tenths of a second in the 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) sprint (CK35: 6,0 sec vs C350: 6,4 sec) while the top speed of the CK35 is 270 km/h �� 168mph. Carlsson also fitted an aerodynamic kit to the C-Class that consists of a front apron, a diffuser-look apron at the rear, side mouldings and a rear spoiler.

The company currently uses the CK35 performance kit based on the 3.5 litre V6 for long-distance racing in an SLK. In other words, every Carlsson CK 35 customer participates in Carlsson's racing success. "The concept of taking developments 'from the race track to the highway' applies to the CK35 more than any other engine", says CEO Rolf Hartge proudly explaining how this piece of high-tech engineering has been breathed on to ensure durability and great efficiency.

The aerodynamic kit consists of a front apron, a diffuser-look apron at the rear, side mouldings and a rear spoiler that stabilises the car at higher speeds. In this connection, too, Carlsson underscores its close association with motor racing. All parts are made of high-grade PUR and, in addition to fitting exactly, distinguished by top surface quality. The kit also includes an electro-polished grille insert and double-headlight units with fog and driving lights for improved light output and, therefore, greater safety. Mercedes AMG has released details on its top-buck CL65 AMG coupe prior to its Big Apple debut in a few days. The uber-alles CL features a 6,0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 that delivers 612Hp and a whopping 1.000Nm of torque, capable of slinging the AMG from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in just 4,4 sec while the 200-km/h (124mph) mark comes after 13.3 sec. As in all Mercedes��, Its maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155mph).

Since the presentation of the CL65 AMG coincides with AMG��s 40th birthday, Mercedes decided to run a special limited edition of just 40 cars dubbed "40th Anniversary". The latter feature among others, a new type of paint finish called ��Alubeam�� that looks like liquid metal, or at least that��s what Mercedes says.

Its maximum output of 450 kW/612 hp and maximum torque of 1000 Newton meters are reflected in its outstanding performance data: the CL65 AMG attains 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reaches the 200-km/h mark in 13.3 seconds. A new type of paint finish reflects the special status of this exclusive version, which is restricted to just 40 vehicles for the whole world. This exceptional AMG coupe is the very first series-production Mercedes to feature AMG Alubeam, a unique paint finish which has previously only been seen on a handful of Mercedes show cars.

A world first, this new process causes the paint to gleam like liquid metal. The color, which seems to be stretched over the vehicle body like a metallic skin, emphasizes the compelling lines of the large Mercedes coupe more effectively than any other paint finish while the light plays on them in a way calculated to make them even more vivid. This is made possible by the use of pigment particles which measure just 30 to 50 nanometers and are therefore able to be incorporated in the surface of the paint much more evenly. As a result, the light is reflected much more intensively and the luster of the paintwork is enhanced. To put this into perspective, conventional paintwork pigments measure between 100 and 300 nanometers.

This fine pigment structure calls for a perfect body surface which the Mercedes experts achieve by means of an elaborate preparatory process before the actual painting stage. It goes without saying that AMG Alubeam also has a clear coat with enhanced scratch resistance which offers greater protection from environmental influences.

The twelve-cylinder biturbo engine of the CL65 AMG features the very latest technology from the world of motorsports. Highly resilient components and materials guarantee consistently high power and torque levels, even at extreme operating temperatures. A case in point is the charge-air cooling system which uses an air/water heat exchanger and a particularly large low-temperature radiator at the front of the vehicle. The maximum charge pressure is 1.3 bar.

The CL65 AMG negotiates bends of every type with a greatly reduced roll angle while body roll during fast avoiding maneuvers is effectively suppressed. In this way, the AMG V12 coupe not only opens up new dimensions of dynamic handling, but also offers noticeably enhanced comfort.

AMG High-Performance Brakes with Innovative Twin Sliding Calipers

The polished 20-inch AMG twin-spoke forged wheels painted in titanium grey also contribute to the superb roadholding of the CL65 AMG. At the front, the 8.5-inch-wide wheels are fitted with 255/35 ZR 20 tires, while 275/35 ZR 20 tires equip the 9.5-inch-wide wheels at the rear. With their filigree spokes, they offer tantalizing views of a brake system, the like of which is not to be found in any other manufacturer's products. The system in question is the AMG high-performance brake system which sets new standards for stopping power, sensitivity and resistance to fading. In keeping with the innovative approach typical of AMG, the front brakes of the CL65 AMG are equipped with twin sliding calipers. A world first, this new technology combines the advantages of a floating-caliper brake - lower heat transfer to the brake fluid and significantly enhanced comfort as a result of the way the brake pads are located - with the performance of a large fixed-caliper brake.

At the rear, braking is handled by a large frame-type sliding caliper. Composite blind-drilled brake discs at the front and rear with respective diameters of 390 and 365 millimeters ensure the shortest stopping distances, excellent resistance to fading and outstanding sensitivity. Under emergency braking from 100 km/h at the permissible gross vehicle weight, the CL65 AMG comes to a standstill in 35.6 meters; this represents a maximum deceleration of 11.1 m/s2. 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Part II �� About a week after lorinser presented its sports package for Merc��s all-new mid-size sedan Brabus announced that it too is joining in the tuning party. Apart from the obvious ��the sleek bodykit and the 17 to 20�� rims, Brabus offers a wide range of engine upgrades. Starting of with the C280 & C350 V6 petrol versions, the German tuner enlarges the engines displacement to 4.0-liters thus pushing output to 332Hp. According to Brabus, with this pack, the C-Class needs 5.9 seconds to go from standstill to 100 km/h while top speed is 275 km/h.

As for the CDI models, the list starts with the D2 (III) kit that increases power output of the C 200 CDI by 39 hp, the C 220 CDI with BRABUS D3 (III) kit delivers 195 hp while the top-spec C 320 CDI with the D6 (III) power kit, it delivers 48 hp of additional power. Concurrent with the market introduction of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class BRABUS presents an exclusive sport program for the new sedan. Highlights of the product lineup are the BRABUS 4.0 displacement engine with 332 hp / 244 kW for the V6 gasoline models, an elegant aerodynamic-enhancement program, light-alloy wheels with 20-inch diameter and corresponding suspensions, plus numerous individual interior options.

BRABUS is world-renowned for its powerful yet clean-burning displacement engines, lubricated exclusively with ARAL motor oil. All tuning components and conversions are backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years up to 100,000 kilometers (see BRABUS warranty conditions as of June 2003).

For the new C 280 and C 350 models BRABUS offers its BRABUS 4.0 engine. By installing a special crankshaft and larger pistons displacement is increased to 4.0 liters. The list starts with the D2 (III) kit that increases power output of the C 200 CDI by 39 hp / 28.7 hp, and bumps peak torque to 385 Nm. The C 220 CDI with BRABUS D3 (III) kit delivers 195 hp / 143 kW of power and 450 Nm of peak torque. For the top-of-the-line turbodiesel model C 320 CDI there is the D6 (III) power kit. It delivers 48 hp / 35.3 kW of additional power and a peak torque of 590 Nm, turning the new C-Class into one of the world's sportiest diesel-powered cars with a 0 �� 100 km/h time of just 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

BRABUS stainless-steel quad sport exhaust systems are available for all engine variants. More dynamics for the new C-Class also come from custom-tailored BRABUS tire/wheel combinations with diameters of 17, 18, 19 and 20 inches and corresponding BRABUS sport suspensions, lowering kits and sport sway bars. The largest wheels for the new C-Class are BRABUS Monoblock VI, E and S light-alloy wheels in size 9Jx20 front and back, fitted with tires is sizes 235/30 ZR 20 in front and 265/25 ZR 20 on the rear axle.

Satnav leads lady in a Mercedes SL500 to deep waters...

We love these stories of satnavs gone bonkers. Just when we thought things couldn��t get any worse, we heard about this poor woman from London that was on her way to a party in Leicestershire, England in her Mercedes SL500. The birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and unfortunately her satnav led her into a winding road meant for farmers in their 4x4��s.

Avoiding common sense and signs that clearly read ��unsuitable for motor vehicles�� the young lady attempted to cross a ford which happened to be swollen after days of rain. The lady and her car were swept 600 yards downstream until she was rescued by a brave nearby villager. Here��s the kicker - the car remained in the river a week after the incident until it was recovered by a tow-truck and according to Dailymail, it is believed that the SL500 is complete write-off.

2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Scoop

Due to be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class will follow under the steps of its smaller sibling the new C-Class, giving particular attention to quality and design. car magazine managed to obtain several spy pics offering us a first view of the new E-Class which goes under the code name, W212. From what we can make, Mercedes designers have used styling elements from the new C-Class and the S-Class. Overall the camouflaged prototype with its "lifted" rear-end seems sleeker than the current model. As for the estate version, expect it to be unveiled the following year (2010). No word on the engine range, but we suspect that along with the current motors (which may be tweaked till then), Mercedes will present a light-turbocharged version of one of its V6 or V8 petrol-engines to compete with BMW's twin-turbo six-cylinder engine .

Lorinser tunes the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Lorinser is one of the first tuners to get its hands on the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class that goes by the internal code W204. There��s no English press release out yet but we did managed to download a pdf file from the German tuner so we��ve got some initial facts. Design-wise, Lorinser has dressed the 2008 C-Class with 18��' or 19�� alloys and a stylish, yet dynamic bodykit that doesn��t go overboard. The most notable change of course is the side air-vents.-Lorinser sort of lost its taste though when it came to the interior with its bright-red and black coloured trim and the quilt-type seat dressings. As for mechanics, from what we where able to make out, Lorinser offers tuned versions of the 3.0 V6 diesel and 3.5 V7 petrol engines that deliver 261 and 305 Hp respectively (from 224 & 272 Hp). The Lorinser C 320 CDI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 7,1 sec (stock: 7,7 sec) achieving a (governed) top speed of 250 km/h (155mph).

The large air intake in the center, covered by a webbed grille, is reminiscent of motor sports. To the left and right, large fog lights form optical focus points highlighting the horizontal nature of the front bumper spoiler, and create a face for the vehicle. A sporty grille, perpendicular in design to the front is the stile accent at the rear. Hear it forms a perfect contour element for the fully integrated Lorinser sport exhaust, which sounds just as great as it looks. Formally the tip design is found in the sail shape of high performance boats, reflecting the synthesis of dynamics and luxury. And just like a yacht in water, the C-Class appears to meld into tarmac, thanks to the lowering kit.

GENEVA Brabus Mercedes ML 63 Widestar

Geneva got its share of tuned models this year with models like the Brabus Mercedes ML63 Widestar. Fitted with a ��bad to bone�� bodykit that consists of add-on parts for the doors, and rocker panels, the Widestar��s ML63 derived V8 engine is fitted with sport air filters and high-performance metal catalysts as well as newly programmed engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition and injection. The result is an increase in power output by 40 hp / 31 kW to 550 hp / 404.8 kW while peak torque grows from 630 Nm to 650 Nm. According to Brabus , 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is shortened to 4.9 seconds while the installation of the BRABUS V/max unit increases top speed from 250 km/h to 275 km/h.

BRABUS WIDESTAR Based on the Mercedes ML 63: An Exclusive Wide-Track Version with 23-Inch Wheels and 550 hp / 405 kW

Sporty and dynamic, exclusive and powerful: These three attributes best describe the BRABUS WIDESTAR. The special model based on the Mercedes ML 63 celebrates its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2007. With the WIDESTAR BRABUS presents not only a new and exciting wide-track version of the SUV but also the new Monoblock E 23-inch forged wheels and BRABUS B63 S performance tuning for the ML 63 with 550 hp / 404.8 kW.

The WIDESTAR concept, which is of course also available for all current M-Class models, combines dynamic looks with maximum functionality. The elegantly flowing lines of the fender flares front and back increase vehicle width by four centimeters. The extra centimeters benefit the car's appearance while the wider track improves handling: The multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock E wheels in size 11Jx23 were custom-tailored for the wide-track version of the M-Class. Their forged wheel center ensures an optimal symbiosis of light-weight design and maximum strength. The new light-alloy wheels are mounted with high-performance tires in size 315/25 R 23.

The BRABUS control module for the standard AIRMATIC air suspension lowers the ride height of the vehicle by some 30 millimeters, further contributing to more sporty road-handling characteristics.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR body conversion consists of add-on parts for the doors, and rocker panels that create a more homogenous transition between the fender flares. But that's not all: Complete front and rear fascias replace their production counterparts front and back. In combination with the rear spoiler the rear fascia with integrated diffuser and cutouts for the four chrome tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system provides the perfect aerodynamic balance.

Its well balanced aerodynamic properties make the BRABUS WIDESTAR a perfectly suited to serve as the platform for a tuned version of the ML 63. The latter was developed by the BRABUS motor engineers in form of the B63 S performance kit. The production V8 engine delivers 510 hp / 375 kW. It is fitted with sport air filters and high-performance metal catalysts as well as newly programmed engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition and injection. Together these measures result in an increase in power output by 40 hp / 31 kW to 550 hp / 404.8 kW. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 630 Nm to 650 Nm.

Vehicle performance benefits accordingly: The sprint from rest to 100 km/h is shortened to 4.9 seconds. The engine tuning and installation of the BRABUS V/max unit increase the top speed from 250 km/h to 275 km/h.

To further optimize active safety the BRABUS WIDESTAR can be equipped with a high-performance brake system. It features 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and cross-drilled 380 x 36 millimeter discs on the front axle. Together with 355 x 28-mm brake discs and 6-piston fixed calipers in the rear it provides the impressive stopping power usually reserved for purebred sports cars.

Yet another BRABUS specialty for the Mercedes M-Class is the creation of exclusive interior options: Stainless-steel door sills with illuminated BRABUS logo, an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel and leather-covered door trim pieces to upgrade the factory leather are all part of the program as are exclusive BRABUS fully leather interiors made from meticulously crafted combinations of the finest Mastik leather and Alcantara.

The production front seats are equipped with special rear consoles that reach all the way to the headrests. They house seven-inch 16:9 LCD screens with integrated DVD player. Also available is a version with an electric folding table made from precious wood.

EDAG LUV: 462Hp Mercedes GL Based, Luxury pick-up concept to debut in Geneva

Making its first appearance at the Geneva Show, EDAG��s LUV stands for ��Luxury Utility Vehicle�� but, as the company notes, in German ��luff�� is used by sailors to describe the windward side of a vessel. Take a look at the pictures and it��s not so difficult to see why EDAG made that connection. Although I��m pretty sure most people will also make a connection with Honda��s US pick-up, the Ridgeline, if you take a closer look at the LUV you��ll see that its actually based on the Mercedes-Benz GL (compare the images we added after the jump). Hence the Brabus tuned, Mercedes 6.1-litre V8 that pumps out 462Hp. According to EDAG, the 4WD LUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a little more than six seconds reaching a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

Fulda/Geneva ��Cast off!�� The new concept car from EDAG Engineering + Design AG will be making its first appearance on March 6, 2007, in Geneva �� the ��EDAG LUV��. The design concept of the ��LUV�� is based on an luxury-class SUV and incorporates a maritime look from bow to stern: oiled teakwood on the hood, as the flooring on the interior, and on the elegant cargo area conveys a maritime flair. But the ��EDAG LUV�� is a real eye-catcher in other respects as well: the cargo area, behind the two rows of seats with plenty of room for 5 passengers, has been outfitted with teakwood and distinctly resembles a quarterdeck �� in keeping with the maritime look of the concept car.

The Module Concept of the ��EDAG LUV�� An Economical Approach to Vehicle Derivatives
But the maritime design of the ��EDAG LUV�� is just the covering for a modular concept which makes it possible to turn vehicles into derivatives or niche vehicles at reasonable expenditures of time and money. In coming up with their shell concept, the EDAG team of engineers, headed by project manager Andreas Funk, set themselves the goal of using the greatest possible number of carry-over parts. The group can certainly be proud of the results of the intelligent module concept: 90% of the parts required to perform the metamorphosis of a luxury-class SUV into the ��EDAG LUV�� come off the parts shelf of the basic vehicle. For example, the extension of the floor pan by 512 mm was realized using original parts. The wheelhouses were also used without any modifications, as were the parts for the rear-end finish, which includes integration of the standard power-lift system from the sedan. ��In addition to our efforts to use a maximum number of identical parts, we were especially careful to keep the existing production concept of the basic vehicle in mind during the development of the ��EDAG LUV��,�� explains Andreas Funk. ��The self-supporting body can be completely welded using standard tongs. It goes without saying that we used simulation models during the development of the entire body concept to test crash behavior and rigidity so that we could guarantee the highest level of quality and safety.�� The advantages of the EDAG module concept are obvious. Thanks to the use of identical parts and taking into account the production concept, a vehicle concept which is visually completely new can be realized under economically interesting conditions. ��More and more end customers are asking for niche vehicles, and this type of design turns the production of such cars into a ��business case�� for the manufacturers,�� points out Johannes Barckmann, Head of Design at EDAG, in describing the concept.

The ��EDAG LUV�� A New Vehicle Segment
��LUV��, the name of the concept car, is not only a term used by sailors (it is German for ��luff��, the windward side of a vessel), but also defines a new vehicle segment �� the luxury utility vehicle. ��In taking the maritime world as a leitmotif for the design of the ��EDAG LUV��, we deliberately selected a niche theme. We wanted to demonstrate in exemplary fashion that it is possible to create a distinctive vehicle class and not only to give a vehicle a new look. And to do that with as little technical effort as possible,�� is how Johannes Barckmann explains the intentions behind the design concept. So the cargo area of the ��EDAG LUV�� is elegantly tied in with the passenger cell by the harmonious lines of the body design. The utility vehicle character so often evident in pick-up models is no longer discernible in the ��EDAG LUV��. On the contrary, the ��EDAG LUV�� radiates elegance and autonomy and cannot be classified by any of the vehicle segments existing today. Yet the luxury image which has been created is only one example for the idea of a versatile vehicle concept. Speaking of versatile: the pick-up module can be exchanged for a convertible or coupe module simply by releasing a catch mechanism integrated into the body of the ��EDAG LUV��. A clever move by the EDAG developers so that additional derivative variants can be realized flexibly and at low cost.

Innovation in the Interior �� The PC Takes Its Place in the Vehicle
The ��EDAG LUV�� has innovative solutions on the inside as well. The EDAG development team has integrated two UMPCs (UltraMobile PCs) into the headrests, bringing the PC world into the vehicle. The user can use a specially developed mechanism to insert the fully operational PCs easily into the headrests. Passengers in the rear seat can use their Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word in the vehicle, plus WLAN and UMTS provide them with Internet access, enabling them to download and answer their e-mails during the trip. Furthermore, integrated Webcams even make it possible to hold Net meetings during the trip. Users can also access their music or DVD collection from the car. The trick: The UMPCs are connected to the vehicle��s audio system so that the MP3 files or videos stored on the computer can also be used in the vehicle. The integration of the computer keyboards into the interior of the ��EDAG LUV�� has also been handled elegantly: modern form-fitting foil keyboards have been embedded in the folding tables available for use by rear-seat passengers. Background lighting makes it possible to work even while traveling at night and is yet another futuristic design element in the interior.

��The integration of so-called consumer devices into the vehicle architecture is a highly interesting topic for the manufacturers. This can result in a genuine additional value for the end customers by making the functionality of the PC world usable in the vehicle as well,�� notes Dr. Robert Hentschel, Director of EDAG Electrics/Electronics. ��Being a full-range developer of vehicles and an integrator in the field of electrics/electronics, we are determined to develop solutions in this area which are stylish, geometrically and functionally high-quality, and practical." EDAG is currently pursuing two solution approaches:

1. A second integration stage will tie the UMPCs into the vehicle architecture for luxury-class vehicles. The advantage: the driver can use operating elements �� e.g., on the steering wheel �� to access directly the functions or data of the UMPC.

2. The EDAG developers are planning the UMPC as an after-market product for compact and midsize cars. The aim here is to develop concepts for various models produced by car-makers so that the devices can be integrated ergonomically and geometrically into the interior without a jarring visual effect. What makes this especially enticing is the possibility of utilizing the UMPC as an on-board computer and high-quality display device by connecting it to the vehicle architecture, providing yet another service, as well as making the complete functionality of a PC available in the car. With this as a goal, EDAG is working closely with the Intel Corporation on the development of solutions for the electrical and electronic connection as well as on the integration of ��nomadic devices�� in the vehicle interior. EDAG will rely on the latest in Intel technology, processors, and chip sets. Especially small dimensions for the chips and low energy consumption are only some of the criteria for their use in cars. The Company is planning to present the ��EDAG LUV�� at the upcoming IAA in Frankfurt in the second integration stage, i.e., with access to the UMPCs via operating elements of the car.

Innovative Development Competence by EDAG
EDAG will be presenting the ��EDAG LUV�� in Geneva as proof of its competence, underscoring the capabilities of the world��s largest independent development partner to develop economically sound innovative vehicle concepts optimized for production. The project has been realized in only three months, from definition of the concept and design process to the development to the ready-to-roll prototypes, and is on the verge of being realized as a Premium Edition.

BRABUS is one of the partners in this project. The tuner from Bottrop contributed not only the 462 hp / 340 kW high-performance BRABUS 6.1 displacement engine for the EDAG LUV that allows this all-wheel-drive vehicle to accelerate to 100 km/h in a little more than six seconds for a speed of 250 km/h.

BRABUS also provides the classy 10Jx22 monoblock S wheels fitted with 295/35 ZR 22 YOKOHAMA tires, the air suspension module as well as the high-performance brake system from its product line-up. The 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and ventilated, perforated 380 x 36 millimeter front brake disks and the 6-piston fixed calipers and 355 x 28 mm rear brake disks reach a braking performance typically achieved only by genuine sports cars.
